#PickoftheWeek | County Fair Features Farming, Hayrides, Corn-Husking + Andy Warhol
BY QEDC It's In Queens
Was Andy Warhol a famous pop artist or a farmer? The answer might be “both.”
Queens County Farm Museum will hold its annual fair from Friday, Sept. 10, through Sunday, Sept. 12.
It’ll include all the traditional rural events and items, such as hayrides, pie-eating contests, carnival rides, Blue Ribbon competitions, and of course, the Amazing Maize Maze. That’s where Warhol comes in. Thanks to a sponsorship by Con Edison, the Maze is shaped like one of Warhol’s Cow pieces.
Admission is $14 on Friday (3:30 pm to 8:30 pm) and $20/$15 on Saturday and Sunday (11 am to 6 pm both days). A three-day pass is $45/$35.
The weekend days have extra activities, including live music and performances by clowns, acrobats, and jugglers. Don’t forget the stilt band (below).
Spread out over 47 acres, Queens County Farm Museum’s entrance is 73-50 Little Neck Parkway in Glen Oaks. There’s free parking on site.
