#PickoftheWeek | Calling All Chamos y Chamas! Venezuelan Cultural Fest Is in LIC on July 1
BY QEDC It's In Queens
Venezuela is suffering under a dictatorship these days, but the South American country has a rich tradition that includes countless Miss Universe winners, great music, delicious food, tremendous dancing, and Major League baseball stars.
Catch the vibe during the Indigo Events Venezuelan Cultural Fest at Culture Lab LIC on Saturday, July 1, at 2 pm.
Attendees will get lost in live Salsa bands, Joropo dancers, Liqui Liqui costumes, family activities, and arepas. (Yes, we know that Colombians contend to have invented these delicious corn cakes, but Venezuela makes the same claim.)
Sponsors include Goya Foods, Westbury Toyota, Orinoco Foods, El Budare Café, V4 Food Family, and the 1-800 Cantaso law firm.
Culture Lab LIC, whose entrance is at 5-25 46th Ave., is a multi-genre arts promoter based in The Plaxall Gallery, a 12,000-square-foot venue not far from the East River. The facility includes two fine art galleries, a 90-seat theater, and classrooms. Right outside is an 18,000-square-foot outdoor event space where Venezuelan Cultural Fest is scheduled to take place.
