What says “Merry Christmas” more than the Grinch, Minions, and Jim Carrey yelling “Bah! Humbug!” in the role of Ebeneezer Scrooge?
Queens Public Library spreads holiday cheer by screening PG and PG-13 films at various branches this season. Here’s the schedule.
Disney’s A Christmas Carol at the Bayside branch (214-20 Northern Blvd.) on Friday, Dec. 23, at 2 pm. This 2009 adaptation of the Charles Dickens classic features Jim Carrey as Ebeneezer Scrooge, as well as the ghosts of Christmas Past, Present and Future.
Moonfall at the Howard Beach branch (92-06 156th Ave.) on Dec. 23 at 3 pm. A mysterious force knocks the Moon from its orbit around Earth and sends it hurtling on a collision course towards life as we know it.
The Grinch at the Mitchell-Linden branch (31-32 Union St., Flushing) on Dec. 23 at 3 pm. The Grinch attempts to undermine Christmas in Whoville with the help of his loyal dog and reindeer. Disguised as Santa Claus, he tries to steal all the presents, but his cover is threatened by an earnest young girl.

Sonic the Hedgehog 2 in Glen Oaks on Thursday, Dec. 29 at 2:30 pm.
Frozen in Bayside on Thursday, Dec. 29, at 2 pm. After the kingdom of Arendelle is cast into eternal winter by Snow Queen Elsa, her sprightly sister Anna teams up with mountaineer Kristoff and his trusty reindeer Sven to break the icy spell.
Jack Frost at the Steinway branch (21-45 31st St.) on Thursday, Dec. 29, at 5 pm. This 1998 Christmas fantasy stars Michael Keaton and Kelly Preston.
New Years Eve at Mitchell-Linden on Dec. 30 at 1 pm. This 2011 romantic comedy stars Ashton Kutcher, Halle Berry, Hilary Swank, Jessica Biel, Jon Bon Jovi, Lea Michele, Ludacris, Michelle Pfeiffer, Robert De Niro, Sarah Jessica Parker, and Zac Efron.
The Holiday at the Briarwood branch (85-12 Main St.) on Friday, Dec. 30, at noon. An American and a Brit, whose love lives are askew, vacation in each other’s homes and meet the men of their dreams in this romantic comedy that stars features Cameron Diaz, Kate Winslet, Jude Law, and Jack Black.
Frozen II in Bayside on Friday, Dec. 30, at 2 pm. Elsa the Snow Queen and her sister, Anna, embark on an adventure far away from the kingdom of Arendelle with Kristoff, Olaf, and Sven.
Minions: The Rise of Gru at the Long Island City branch (37-44 21st St.) on Friday, Dec. 30, at 2 pm. Gru hatches a plan to become evil enough to join the super villain group Vicious 6. But when he comes to his senses, an adventure awaits.
Monsters University in Mitchell-Linden on Dec. 30 at 3 pm. Two mismatched monsters become lifelong friends.
