#Newsflash | Flushing Town Hall Is Ready to Turn Artists into Entrepreneurs
BY QEDC It's In Queens
It’s time to get down to business!
Flushing Town Hall is about to offer a free boot camp for creative types who live and/or work in Queens.
The NYSCA/NYFA Artist as Entrepreneur Program (AEP) is an intensive, in-person, professional-development opportunity set to run from Thursday, July 20, to Sunday, July 23.
However, the deadline to apply is Monday, June 19, at 5 pm…so hurry!
Consisting of workshops, discussions, and breakout groups, AEP topics include finance, fundraising, law, marketing, and strategic planning, with additional material drawn from the New York Foundation for the Arts textbook The Profitable Artist (Allworth Press, 2018).
Artists of all disciplines (Film, Folk, Interdisciplinary, Literary, Multidisciplinary, New Media, Performing, Social Practice, Traditional, Video, Visual, etc) and career stages, including students, are encouraged to apply. Priority goes to those based in Queens and those with connections to the borough.
Applicants are asked to provide long-term goals, reasons for applying, a narrative bio, a link to a website or online presence, and work samples with a work statement and description.
Click here to apply. Direct any questions to learning@nyfa.org with “Flushing Town Hall” in the subject line.
Participants are selected through a panel review process. Notification is on Wednesday, June 28. AEP is presented by the NYFA in partnership with the New York State Council on the Arts’ State & Local Partnerships program, and FTH.
