#Newsflash | Fine Food Meets a Great Cause
BY QEDC It's In Queens
Food. Fun. Networking. Music. Comedy. A giddy atmosphere. And a noble cause.
The 26th annual Evening of Fine Food will take place at Terrace on the Park in Flushing Meadows Corona Park on Tuesday, March 15, at 6:30 pm.
Food. Marbella, Austin’s Ale House, Bourbon Street, Max Bratwurst und Bier, La Casa de Julia, Café Renis, Havana Central, and One Station Plaza are among the restaurants that will give out samples. Those samples will be enhanced by treats from Aigner Chocolate, Javamelts, MadeFresh Organic, MumsKitchen NYC, Schmidt’s Candy, and The Wine Room for Forest Hills.
Fun. Whiskey, vodka, wine, and beer. Apollo Riego will do magic tricks. Attendees can smile for the camera in the Le Selfie photo booth.
Networking. The sponsors include Maspeth Federal Savings, Mutual of America, Investors Bank, Queens Courier, Queens Ledger, and Yelp. The honorees are Madison Square Garden Entertainment Corporation Vice President of Government Affairs and Social Impact Rhonda Binda and Maspeth Federal President and CEO Thomas Rudzewick.
Music. Jim Altamore will perform as Frank Sinatra and DJ Mike Kouros of Bravo Sound will keep the joint jumping.
Comedy. Suzanne Windland and Usama Siddiquee will offer stand-up routines.
A giddy atmosphere. The event is in-person for the first time since Covid forced it to go virtual. If that’s not enough, after moving to Corona with dreams of making it in the entertainment world, a teenage Madonna worked at Terrace in the Park. Catch her spirit in the elevators that she once operated.
A noble cause. The event raises funds for Queens Centers for Progress, a nonprofit that assists more than 1,200 individuals with developmental disabilities to lead more independent lives.
Tickets are $135 per person.
