#NewsFlash | Bayside’s Bell Boulevard to Bustle on Sunday
BY QEDC It's In Queens
The organizers have a good feeling about this one. First of all, it will take place on the most vibrant food-and-retail corridor in Queens. Second, it will take place during the corridor’s most vibrant afternoon.
Bayside Village BID’s Sunday Stroll will unfold along Bell Boulevard on the two blocks between 39th and 41st avenues on Sunday, Sept. 24, from noon to 5 pm. The thoroughfare will be closed to vehicular traffic, so individuals will be able to walk around to enjoy a mixture of fun and business in the outdoor air.
This fourth annual extravaganza will feature music, performances, wine tasting, carnival games, arts & crafts tables, bouncy houses, giant bubbles, family yoga, and interactive activities. At the same time, local stores will offer outdoor seating, tastings, special menus, and discounts. Competitive types will be able to try their luck at outdoor chess and checkers.
Admission is free, and here is a list of some of the scheduled activities.
- Turn the Page…Again will spearhead Super Hero Story Time and give out masks;
- The Uni Project will bring its portable reading room and science lab;
- Bubbledad will put on a show and then host bubblewand crafts;
- Chicken Head Rocks will jam some free-range Rock-n-Roll and Blues;
- Landing Approach will share its acoustic alternative rock from the 1990s to today;
- Stu Pender and Poetic Thrust might go with some live guitar and improvisational Hip Hop;
- Robert Mann Dance Centre students will perform; and
- Bayside Paint Place will host a paint swatch art activity station.
