#InTheLoop | Tribeca Festival to Screen Films at Three Queens Venues in June
BY QEDC It's In Queens
First it was Eddie Murphy. Now, the Tribeca Festival is coming to Queens!
The 20th annual extravaganza will present free outdoor films in Astoria Park, Flushing Meadows Corona Park, and Rockaway Beach in June. (Brooklyn, Manhattan, and the Bronx will host screenings, too, but let’s focus on the World’s Most Diverse Borough.)
Patrons will be able to watch narratives, documentaries, shorts, family-friendly animation, and Black classic retrospectives on a 40-foot, state-of-the-art LED marquee in picnic-style spaces that comply with COVID protocols.

“Our founding mission is even more relevant today and we wanted to ensure that we could reach all corners of New York,” said Tribeca Festival CEO Jane Rosenthal, who founded the project with Robert De Niro and Craig Hatkoff after the 9/11 attacks. “Tribeca was started to bring people together, and that’s what we aim to do again this year, to connect communities across all five boroughs and share our festival experience, safely, while supporting local businesses.”
