#InTheLoop | New Queens Boxing Gym Offers Total Body Workouts
BY QEDC It's In Queens
Here’s the chance to exercise, sweat, and look like a professional boxer ─ without being hit by other professional boxers.
Bout has recently opened in Long Island City.
The gymnasium offers total body workouts during which participants burn more than 1,000 calories with a focus on conditioning, muscle definition, and speed. They learn proper stance, footwork, and punches. (Remember: The bags don’t punch back.)
The typical Bout session features 12 three-minute rounds of boxing, conditioning, and movement combined with functional training that includes jumping rope, footwork, punch combinations on heavy bags, and body-weight exercises.
Classes are open to all with no experience necessary. There’s also the Bout Junior Boxing Academy for potential pugilists between the ages of seven and 13.
Prices for group classes run from $30 for one to $250 for unlimited monthly. Personal trainer options run from $120 per person to $1,080 for a 10-pack.
Bout is located across the Pulaski Bridge entrance at 10-93 Jackson Ave. It’s near the 7 train’s Vernon Boulevard-Jackson Avenue station.
