#PickoftheWeek | Join the monthly jazz jams
BY QEDC It's In Queens
It’s time to get your groove on.
Flushing Town Hall will host the Monthly Jazz Jam on Wednesday, Sept. 6, at 7 p.m.
The rules are simple. Musicians get together…and get down. Participants include professionals looking to hone their chops and network, as well as graduate students from the Aaron Copeland School of Music at Queens College, and teachers seeking enrichment.
Plus, many attendees don’t even play an instrument…they just love the scene.
Flushing Town Hall, which boasts an on-site Steinway grand piano, has a house band led by saxophonist Carol Sudhalter (below), as Astoria resident who also rocks the flute, clarinet, and piano. She and her colleagues will be jamming, too.
Tickets are $10, but the musicians don’t pay.
Editor’s note: If you can’t make it on Sept. 6, you can attend on the first Wednesday of October. Or November. Or December.
