The Bayside Historical Society invites youngsters to explore the Castle at Fort Totten on Saturday, Feb. 11, from 1 pm to 3 pm. The day will include crafts, activities, and snacks. $5.
There’s something for everyone this Saturday, Feb. 11, at Alley Pond Environmental Center. The Young Chefs “Lovely” Culinary Class (ages 8–12) will whip up zucchini pancakes and berry smoothies from 10:30 am until noon, $24. During Love is the Air, children will make treats for animals (ages 3–4) from 9:30 am to 11 am and (ages 5–7) from 1:30 pm to 3 pm, $21. Vet Tech 101 will prepare children (ages 10–13) for a career with animals from 9 am to 11 am, $25. All programs require pre-registration.
Queens Museum hosts a Creative Spectrum Art Social on select Sundays for families and children (ages 5–12) affected by autism. The free program encourages socialization as well as therapeutic and creative outlets through art. Sunday, Feb. 12 from 10 am to 11 am.
Get ready for some good clean fun at the New York Hall of Science during the Little Makers: Bath Tub Art workshop, Feb. 12 from 10:30 am to 12:30 pm. Children (ages 18 months and up) and their caregivers make their own colorful crayons to use in the tub. $8 per family.
Classic tales of friendship come to life on Feb. 15 at 10:30 am during the musical A Year with Frog and Toad. The whole family will enjoy this award-winning performance at Queens College’s Colden Auditorium at Kupferberg Center for the Arts. $8.
Plan ahead and stop by Flushing Town Hall on Feb. 19 at 5 pm. Enjoy a multigenerational Korean Traditional Marching Band, followed by an interactive workshop on Korean rhythms, movements, and instruments. $5 per person.
