Queens got talent! Lots of talent.

See it with your own eyes at the Astoria Artists Theater Variety Show on Saturday, June 8, starting at 6 pm.

Borough born and bred entertainers will perform for the crowd and a panel of judges for fun, glory, and prizes.

Debbie Despina Cartsos will offer her unique belly dance that fuses modern and vintage themes with her Greek heritage. Loupakis Athletic Center Founder Costas Loupakis will offer tumbling and gymnastics. Amazing Amy, who is a contortionist, will do flex yoga, showcasing the unity of mind, body, and spirit.

The audience will also get to hear music by a group of public school teachers and Queens College alums – Austin Tobia (guitar and lead vocals), Phil Stern (vocals and piano), and Chris Ramirez (percussionist). Other scheduled performers include Tommy Burnett (mind reader), Zack Nieves (comedian), Powel Leonard and Rachel Marcus (sketch comedy), Kannaki Bhaxali (hula hoop), Lena Wu (opera singer), Loren Loops (flow dance), and Doc Sasko (magician).

Along with others, they will compete for such prizes as a vacation package deal, a gift certificate to Katch Astoria, and a beauty/photo session with celebrity hair and make-up artist Anthony Isambert.

The judges consist of Katch Astoria owner Roseann McSorley; Astoria Podcast producer Brie Mittan; Chrysa Petridou, a singer and actress; Trav SD, a writer and producer; Noah Forrest, a screenwriter and actor; and George Fuiaxis, a filmmaker and producer.

General admission is $23.18 online with a two-for-one discount offer.

The Variety Show, which is organized by Legendary Entertainment NYC and Powella Productions, will unfold in the Hellenic Cultural Center at 27-09 Crescent St. Parking is on the street.
