Savvy shoppers can practice their opposite-field hitting skills and peruse footwear and sports apparel in the same place these days.
Shoe Village, a brick-and-mortar store whose website claims is “10,000 square feet of shoe heaven,” now has on-site batting cages.
Operating as Game 162, the indoor facility has five hitting tunnels with pitching machines of various sizes and speeds. (Four people are allowed in a cage at one time.) Baseballs, softballs, helmets, and bats are free.
Prices start at $40 per session with team rentals available.
Game 162 has the same hours as Shoe Village. It’s open six days a week – Monday through Saturday – from 11 am to 8 pm.
Located at 45-22 162nd St. in East Flushing, Shoe Village is a 28-year, family-owned, second-generation business that also sells products online.
