Queens is looking good these days!
The AsianInNY 2024 New York Fashion Show is in Flushing on Sunday, Sept. 22, at 4 pm.
This event features collections by two designers and a dance performance amid fashion illustrations and visual art designs.
General admission is $50 online and $80 on site. VIP tickets are $100.
Here’s information on the talent.
- Alexander King Chen has collaborated with Estée Lauder, Mercedes Benz, and Asus. The Taiwanese-American designer (above, center) is also a filmmaker, producer, set designer, songwriter, and stylist. His short films have won numerous international accolades, including Best Artistic Director and Best Visual and Special Effects at the BFI London Film Festival.
- Kai Ting Chen holds a Master’s from New York’s Fashion Institute of Technology. The Taiwan-born designer and author contributed to Peter Do’s 2022 Spring/Summer collection at New York Fashion Week and previously showcased her 2019 Spring/Summer collection at London Fashion Week.
- Formerly a principal dancer with the Martha Graham Dance Company, PeiJu Chien-Pott (below) is the founder of PEIJU Performing Arts in Taiwan. She’s also the New and Contemporary Dance Director for the Nai-Ni Chen Dance Company and a faculty member at the Alvin Ailey School in New York.
- Nina Edwards is an award-winning illustrator and visual artist who teaches at Pratt Institute. Her fashion illustrations and visual art designs will add an extra layer of creative energy to the event.
Founded in 2008, AsianInNY promotes Asian fashion, arts, and culture.
The AsianInNY 2024 New York Fashion Show is scheduled for the newly renovated Taipei Economic and Cultural Office Culture Center at 133-32 41st Rd., near Main Street.
