Queens is going Hollywood. Well, actually, it’s the other way around.
Queens Theatre hosts three BodyTraffic performances this weekend.
This Los Angeles-based troupe offers absorbing, thought-provoking, and vividly theatrical dance, using the creative spirit of the City of Angels as a backdrop. The audience should be prepared for an array of music-dance relationships that might include silence, lip-syncing, vamping, feel-good moments, slithery movements, and choreography that lets the dancers shine as individuals.

Ticket prices run from $32 to $42, and shows are on Saturday, Jan. 13, at 2 pm and 8 pm, and Sunday, Jan. 14, at 3 pm.
Found by Tina Finkelman Berkett in 2007, BodyTraffic presents contemporary dance to “get the world moving.” The nonprofit endorses established and new voices and provides a home for an eclectic range of styles and perspectives that tell vital stories.
Queens Theatre is located at 14 United Nations Ave. S. in Flushing Meadows Corona Park. A free parking lot is nearby.
