It’s time to celebrate the harvest!
Queens Botanical Garden hosts Apples & Honey Day on Sunday, Sept. 10, at noon.
To take place in QBG’s Crab Apple Orchard, the four-hour event features live music, dance, lawn games, tastings, themed crafts, beer, cider, beekeepers, and the traditional Pollinator Parade.
Valerie Green will present an adaptation of one of her signature works, Home, at 2 pm. Created with choreographers from Burkina Faso, Colombia, Lebanon, Sweden, and the U.S., the dynamic dance explores identity, culture, environment, ritual, history, and community. (Green runs the LIC-based Green Space dance studio.)
T-Klez will add some spice to the event by performing Klezmer music at 12:45 pm and 3:15 pm.
Apples & Honey Day is free, but QBG admission is $6 with discounts for seniors, students, individuals with disabilities, and youngsters.
QBG’s main entrance is at 43-50 Main St. in Flushing. There’s onsite parking in QBG’s lot at 42-80 Crommelin St.
