Here’s the chance to marvel at the world’s best batsmen, bowlers, mullgrubbers, and wicket-keepers.
The Coca-Cola Cricket Watch Party is on Sunday, June 9, in Citi Field, starting at 10:30 am.
The national teams from India and Pakistan will face each other, and fans will be able to see the action on Citi Field’s huge video board, the biggest in Major League Baseball. (They’ll be able to enjoy the best-ranked MLB stadium food, too.)
Admission is free – thanks to Liberty Coca-Cola Beverages and the New York Mets – but reserve space ahead of time. Parking in the Citi Field lot costs $40 for a car and $80 for an oversized vehicle. (Gates open at 9 am on June 9.)
The Watch Party is part of the ninth annual ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2024, which runs from June 1 to June 29.
Considered to be cricket’s most important championship, squads from 20 countries – Afghanistan, Australia, Bangladesh, Canada, England, India, Ireland, Namibia, Nepal, Netherlands, New Zealand, Oman, Papua New Guinea, Pakistan, Scotland, South Africa, Sri Lanka, Uganda, United States, and West Indies – will vie for glory.
All the 55 scheduled matches will take place in the United States and the West Indies. The only local host venue is the Nassau County International Cricket Stadium in Eisenhower Park in East Meadow, Long Island. (It was built specifically for this year’s ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2024.)
