Check out living animals during the day … and illuminated ones at night.
Queens County Farm Museum unveils the Winter Lantern Festival on Friday, Nov. 17.
This fourth annual holiday treat features more than 1,000 lanterns in shapes of Chinese folklore characters and animals — all handmade by artisans with decades of dedication to their craft — along with interactive tunnels, swings, and see-saws. An immersive Bounce House and Sugar Paintings add to the scene this year.
In other words, it’s “Instagrammable.”
On display until Jan. 7, 2024, the Winter Lantern Festival, which is also known as “Illuminate The Farm,” will operate Fridays through Sundays from 5 pm to 9:30 pm. However, it’ll be open every day from Dec. 22 to Jan. 1 during the same hours.
Admission prices start at $21.99 for adults and $17.99 for children (ages four-12). Babies and toddlers can attend for free.
This year includes a Wish Jar Add-on. For an extra price, visitors can take home a star-shaped glass container filled with mini fairy lights.
Queens Farm’s entrance is 73-50 Little Neck Pkwy. in Glen Oaks. There’s free parking, but the venue is not ADA-accessible.
