They’re bouncy, baffling, and even a bit bossy.
New York Hall of Science opens The Big Bubble Experiment on Friday, Nov. 17, at 10 am.
An expansion of a favorite former activity at the museum, the new, long-term exhibition encourages experimentation and discovery through bubble play, such as blowing, stretching, popping, and looking closely.
Is anything more fun?
Ten stations offer a variety of tools and methods. Prompts help participants get started, but all experiences are open-ended, inviting guests to ask questions, work with others, and try new ideas. The goal is to provide knowledge to answer the following questions.
Why are bubbles so colorful?
What’s inside a bubble?
Why is a bubble round?
Access to Big Bubble is included in the $12 general admission price. (Children, students, and seniors pay $19.)
Located at 47-01 111th St. in Corona, New York Hall of Science has a large parking lot. The venue is a short walk from the 111th Street station on the 7 train.
Editor’s note: While there, check out Dogs! A Science Tail, which is on display through Jan. 7, 2024.
