#Pick(s)oftheWeek | Queens Hosts Eagles Tribute Band + Shanghai Circus Over Star-Studded Weekend

In the first show, close your eyes and enjoy The Eagles in concert. In the second show, close your eyes and miss all the fun.

Queensborough Performing Arts Center hosts two major events this weekend. Hotel California goes first on Saturday, March 1, at 8 pm. (Ticket prices run from $40 to $55.)

Hotel California, which has the most Facebook likes for any tribute band, offers family-friendly concerts that feature incredible crowd participation and great lights. They have performed all over the world and shared the stage with such acts as the Doobie Brothers, Lynyrd Skynyrd, REO Speedwagon, and Styx.

Who are The Eagles? The group has won seven number one hits and six number one albums while selling more than 150 records. Add to mix six Grammys and five American Music awards.

The Grand Shanghai Circus, arguably China’s most celebrated acrobatic company, goes next on Sunday, March 2, at 4 pm. (Ticket prices run from $40 to $55, too.)

This show begins with beautiful costumes and state-of-the-art lighting. Then, performers dazzle with a repertoire that includes the Diablo (Chinese YoYo), The Aerial Fish Ballet, Adagio, The Silk Lovers, Fun Plate Spinning, Human Strength, the amazing Chair Stack, the Unicycle, Spinning Rings, Hand Stands, and the marvelous Group Acts.

QPAC is on Queensborough Community College’s Bayside campus. The entrance is at 222-05 56th Ave., and large parking lots are on site.
