#PickoftheWeek | Shop Until You Drop in Astoria. Then Shop Some More!

Black Friday can’t compare to Astoria Weekend!

QED will host the tenth annual Makers Market from noon to 5 pm on Nov. 25 and Nov. 26.

Several dozen Queens-based artisans and crafters will sell such handmade, homemade, and small batch products as candles, jewelry, prints, and pottery with the promise that “you won’t find this on Amazon.”

And to add to the unique, local feel, the Makers Market is part of the Shop Small Astoria Retail Crawl which features more than 30 stores this year. Plus, attendees will be able to enjoy happy hour prices on Singlecut beer and cookies by Sexy Batch Baking Company, hot apple cider, a burning yule log (albeit on a TV screen), and holiday music.

Admission is free and prices on the items vary. Those who spend $25 or more will receive two passes for future shows at QED and a tote bag, while supplies last.

Three lists follow. The first one contains the vendors that will be at QED both days.

“QED was created by and for artists of Queens, so there’s no better time to showcase that than Small Business weekend,” stated QED owner Kambri Crews. “It’s one of my favorite annual events and a great kickoff to the holiday season.”

QED is a multipurpose arts space at 27-16 23rd Ave. Comedy shows, movie screenings, storytelling, and writing workshops are among events that frequently take place there.
