Some experiences are hard to describe, but everybody knows that they’re simply awesome.
Gentlemen Brawlers offers Truth & Magic at Culture Club LIC on Friday, Dec. 13, and Saturday, Dec. 14. (Both shows start at 7 pm.)
Attendees can expect all sorts of surprises, including elements they can taste, smell, see, touch, and hear during this approximately 90-minute interactive concert.
Led by Becca Fox and Matt Walsh, Gentleman Brawlers (aka The Finest Funky Disco Kids) grooves to a unique form of music that might blend AfroFunk and Indie dance tracks with the Talking Heads, while constantly engaging the audience.
“If you can move you can dance!” Fox often shouts from the stage — or the crowd if she’s doing her thing there.
Prices run from $33.85 to $39.19. (By purchasing a ticket, an individual consents to being filmed for possible promotional purposes.)
Fox (vocals, synths, dance) and Walsh (keyboards, guitar, production) are the mainstays of the ever-evolving group. Other members include Quincie Hydock (vocals, dance), Jeremy Warren (drums), Trevor Brown (bass), Tree Palmedo (trumpet), and Nick Marziani (saxophone).
