3AM Theatre hosts Esrever nightly from Thursday, Nov. 29, through Sunday, Dec. 2.
Where to begin? How about, what’s 3AM Theatre?
It’s a multidisciplinary company and performance space at Unit 3N at 9-20 35th Ave. in Long Island City. The troupe blends contemporary circus, modern dance, and physical theater with sculpture and lighting design to create original works. The venue host artists from many disciplines, giving them the opportunity to experiment and explore their crafts, while also connecting them with peers and audiences.
Sounds great. What’s Esrever besides the word “reverse” in reverse?
The show blends experimental juggling, lighting installation, live electronic music, and video. 3AM Theatre Artistic Director Kyle Driggs creates and offers it on the fourth weekend of each month. Tickets are $30, and all four shows start at 7 pm.
Nice, but who’s Driggs?
A writer and performer who specializes in a fusion of juggling, object manipulation, movement, and theatrical persona. After graduating from Ecole Nationale de Cirque de Montréal 10 years ago, he performed in several renowned circus shows with a stint as a soloist in Cirque Du Soleil’s Broadway run of “Paramour“ and in the 2019-2020 season of The Big Apple Circus.
It’s a big weekend at 3AM, but then what?
