The Westminster Kennel Club Dog Show will return to the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center in Flushing Meadows Corona Park for a second consecutive year on May 11-14 (2024).
Yes, the same hallowed tennis grounds where the Grand Slam tournament amazes fans in late August and early September.
Presented again by Purina Pro Plan, this 148th annual showcase – the country’s second-longest continuously held sporting event after the Kentucky Derby – will attract more than 3,000 well-groomed canines from around the world. Expect more than 200 breeds, including Bracco Italianos, Chihuahuas, French Bulldogs, Irish Wolfhounds, Labrador Retrievers, Malteses, Rhodesian Ridgebacks, Whippets, and Yorkshire Terriers.
The prancing pooches will compete in such categories as the 11th Annual Masters Agility Championship, the Ninth Annual Masters Obedience Championship, Dock Diving, and Junior Showmanship. The Best in Show winner will be crowned on the Arthur Ashe Stadium court — the same spot where tennis stars Coco Gauff and Novak Djokovic won the U.S. Open a few weeks ago.

Established in 1877, the Westminster Kennel Club is the country’s oldest organization dedicated to the sport of dogs. For years, its competition took place at Manhattan venues, especially Madison Square Garden. For two years during Covid, the show went on outdoors at a 67-acre estate in Westchester County’s Tarrytown before coming to Queens for the first time in 2023.
