#Newsflash | Queens Version of Monopoly Will Be Available in Fall 2024

Battleship, Boot, Racecar, Scottie Dog, Thimble, Top Hat, and Wheelbarrow will pass GO in Queens soon.

A local version of Monopoly will debut in Fall 2024, toy-and-game company Top Trumps USA has just announced.

Amazing news, but who deserves to be in it? Lemon Ice King? Eddy’s Sweet Shop? The Unisphere? Citi Field? Neir’s Tavern? The USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center? Aubergine Café?

Production is about to begin, but first Top Trumps, which is working via a partnership with Hasbro, wants input from Queens residents, business owners, and stockholders to ensure the set includes the essential elements of the World’s Borough.

Top Trumps rep Tim Barney will accept submissions through the Monopoly Queens landing page through the end of February.

“From little hole-in-the-wall spots to historic Queens staples, we would love for everyone to get on board and send us recommendations of their favorite businesses and organizations from all industries, as well as attractions and landmarks from all around town,” stated Barney. “It’s very much a game made by and for the people.”

The entire set consists of a box lid, a board, Community Chest and Chance playing cards, property deeds, money and other aspects.

After the unveiling this fall, the game will be available online and in stores that want to sell it. Expect some nonprofits (i.e. Queens Museum, Museum of the Moving Image) to supply it as well.

The first-ever Monopoly hit shelves in 1935. Today, it’s played by more than one billion players in 114 countries across the globe.
