You’ll go for the ice, but stay for the burgers.
A brand new skating rink will open at Ottomanelli’s By The Water in November.
The Hunter’s Point Park South concession will soon operate an outdoor facility with fantastic views of the East River and Midtown Manhattan. Spread out over more than 4,000 feet, the rink will lie near the garden area and boardwalk. (Official address: 52-10 Center Blvd.)
“Hunter’s Point South Park will be elevated with an ice-skating rink that will provide both recreation and joy in the neighborhood,” stated Frank Ottomanelli, the owner and idea man. He added that naming rights are still open.
In the same general area, Ottomanelli is also about to unveil a roughly 11,000-square-foot mural. He’s working with a team of local stakeholders to install a series of three-foot-high artworks that’ll wrap around his eatery in the vicinity of the NYC Ferry landing.
The Queens native also owns F. Ottomanelli Burgers & Belgian Fries, a combined butcher shop and fast-casual restaurant at 60-15 Woodside Ave. If his last name sounds familiar, it’s because Ottomanelli family members have run meat businesses in New York since 1900
