Tinder, Jdate, Hinge, Bumble. Nothing compares to Singles’ Day at The Shops at Skyview!
Set for Saturday, Nov. 11, the third annual Singles’ Day is an afternoon of serious “Me Time,” featuring pampering, live music, mingling, and a panel discussion with Asian-American heartthrob Kevin Kreider from Netflix’s Bling Empire.
Here’s the schedule.
Superstar Makeover (2 pm to 3 pm) Live demos on makeup trends and techniques.
Bonus: Follow Skyview on Instagram, share the event post, and comment. Two winners will receive a style makeover by Sephora and complimentary outfits and styling services from Skyview retailers.
Meet & Greet with Kevin Kreider (3 pm to 4 pm) The actor talks about his inspiration, how he lives his best life, and what he’s learned along the way.
Bonus: The first 50 guests who spend more than $100 at Skyview retailers get the chance to pose for a photo with Kreider and receive an autographed poster.
Single & Mingle (4 pm to 5 pm) Get social with a live DJ performance and drinks.
Bonus: Show a receipt from any Skyview retailer to receive a specialty drink to toast a great afternoon.
Attendance is free, but registration is required, click here.
Born in Korea, Kreider moved to Philadelphia at age three after a German/Irish family adopted him. He started his career in the fitness and modeling industries before finding fame on Bling Empire, the first all Asian and Asian American reality show. He’s also Founder and CEO of Sans, a non-alcoholic drink by Taejin Beverage.
In the Asian world, Singles’ Day is a huge shopping promotion, bigger than Black Friday and Amazon’s Prime Day. Celebrated on Nov. 11, it began as an anti-Valentine’s Day joke among students at China’s Nanjing University in 1993. Founders chose the date — 11/11 — because it consists of four singles.
With a main entrance at 40-24 College Point Blvd. in Flushing, Skyview has a mix of stores for women’s, men’s and children’s apparel, shoes, electronics, home furnishings, entertainment, cosmetics, groceries, and more. A parking lot is on site, and the complex is about four blocks from the Flushing-Main Street station on the 7 line.
