#Newsflash | Hello Kitty Truck to Spend a Day in Flushing

This event is the cat’s meow.

To celebrate 50 years of adorableness and commerce, the Hello Kitty Café Truck will pop up in Flushing on Saturday, May 3.

To be stationed by The Shops at Skyview’s main entrance at 40-24 College Point Blvd. from 10 am to 7 pm, the mobile unit will give away limited-edition treats and merchandise amid an explosion of the color pink. Other items will be on sale. (Editor’s note: Expect large cookies, macaron sets, mugs, bottles, and really long lines.)

Plus, youngsters will be able to take free Hello Kitty-themed photos with their caregivers or by showing any Hello Kitty Café receipt at the Hello Kitty photo booth on Level 4.

This is the only Queens stop for the truck, which is on a national tour to celebrate its 10th anniversary. The event coincides with the ongoing Mother’s Day: Words from the Heart activity during which Skyview visitors can send personalized postcards to their parental figures from April 26 through May 11. The shopping center provides cards as long as supplies last. Then, participants simply add their personal messages and drop the postcards in the turquoise mailbox on Level 4 (just outside Sephora). Skyview will mail them anywhere in the world just in time for Mother’s Day.

From 2 pm to 4 pm during the Hello Kitty pop up, visitors can tell an on-site poet what they love most about their caregivers and receive a custom poem with any purchase from Skyview retailers.

Live music and raffles will take place throughout the day.

These events are free and open to the public. No pre-registration is required. Click here to learn more.
