A penny saved is a penny earned…and here’s the chance to save hundreds of them.
Queens County Farm Museum is offering 20 percent discounts to three major events — the Sheep Shearing Festival, the Queens County Fair, and Halloween on the Farm – from now until March 1. Use the promo code “EarlyBird20” when selecting tickets online.
The historic venue, which is located at 73-50 Little Neck Parkway in Glen Oaks, is celebrating 325 years of continuous, onsite farming with a full schedule of events in 2022. Here’s more information on the currently discounted ones.
The Sheep Shearing Festival is on Saturday, May 14, from 11 am to 4 pm.
Watching the woolly sheep get haircuts is the main draw, but this celebration of spring includes farmer-led tours, demonstrations, live music, crafts, food vendors, hayrides, and even a scavenger hunt. Pre-discounted prices run from $8 to $12.
The three-day Queens County Fair starts on Friday, Sept. 9, and ends of Sunday, Sept. 11.
Part step back in time, part trip to the Midwest, this 39th annual event features pie-eating, corn-husking, and blue-ribbon agricultural competitions, along with music, food, a maze, and plenty of shopping. Regular prices go from $14 to $45 for a three-day pass.
Halloween on the Farm is on Sunday, Oct. 30, from 11 am to 4 pm.
Costumed kids trick-or-treat among animals, hayrides, a spooky farmhouse, a DJ party, a maze challenge, and fantastic food. General admission is $20.
