Everybody loves a good infusion, and everybody loves a good time.
The Island Tea Party will take place in St. Albans on Sunday, June 23, at 3 pm.
Presented by CherVitality, the four-hour event features tea tastings (naturally), appetizers, desserts, vendors, a panel discussion, networking, product releases, sea moss consumption, and a live DJ.
The main pour will be moringa, a dense tropical plant known to improve heart health, control diabetes, treat cancer, heal liver damage, and fight chronic inflammation. All told, it has 92 different nutrients, 46 antioxidants, and 18 amino acids.
The main organizer is Cherie Conliffe, a registered dietitian who founded CherVitality in 2017. Moringa trees grow in her parents backyard on the Caribbean island of St. Vincent. She uses the leaves for tea (again, naturally), but she also adds them to soups, stews, smoothies, and other dishes.
The Island Tea Party is scheduled for 116-24 Lovingham Pl. Admission prices run from $65 to $100. Public transportation is not great, but the venue is not too far from the LIRR’s St. Albans station. There’s plenty of free street parking.
