#PickoftheWeek | Special Saturday Event Features Broadway Stars + Farmers
BY QEDC It's In Queens
It’s a typical day in the country ─ except for the live performances by Broadway stars.
Queens Country Farm Museum will host Pride on the Farm on Saturday, July 31.
Kimberley Locke, a former “American Idol” contestant whose four #1 Dance hits include “Feel the Love,” will get things started at around 2 pm. Other headliners are Jennifer DiNoia (above), who has toured with “Wicked” and “Mamma Mia!”; Christine Nolan, whose resume includes Broadway’s “Hair”; and professional Drag performer Angel Elektra.
From 11 am to 4 pm in other spots, farmers will lead tours, experts will discuss pollination and other rural pursuits, a driver will offer hayrides, and nonprofits such as Broadway Sings for Pride, The LGBT Network, and Drag Queen Story Hour NYC will participate in an LGBTQ+ resource fair.
Tickets cost $12, but children (ages three to 12) only pay $8. Those under age three can attend for free.
Spread out over 47 acres, Queens Farm’s entrance is at 73-50 Little Neck Parkway in Glen Oaks. There’s free on-site parking.
Editor’s note: This is also the final weekend to enjoy The Floral Escape (below) at Queens Farm.
