#PickoftheWeek | Four-Day Queens Music Festival Starts on Dec. 2
BY QEDC It's In Queens
Thanksgiving was just a warm up. This weekend features a four-day festival with classical music integrated with theatrical design, dance, food, and educational programs.
The CreArtBox Winter Music Festival will take place at Culture Lab LIC from Thursday, Dec. 2, to Sunday, Dec. 5.
The program mixes modern pieces by living composers with classics from as far back as the 17th century (i.e. Ludwig van Beethoven, Johannes Brahms, Claude Debussy). Visual installations and multimedia designs will enhance the performances, and during some sessions, the composers, musicians, and directors will discuss their creative processes and participate in Q&A sessions and roundtables.
Ticket prices range from $10 to $60, and government-issued Covid safety protocols will be enforced. Culture Lab LIC is located at 5-25 46th Ave.
The lineup features members of The Metropolitan Opera Orchestra, Carnegie Hall’s Ensemble Connect, The Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center, American Ballet Theater, Orchestra of St. Luke’s, Auckland Philharmonia Orchestra, The St. Paul Chamber Orchestra, New World Symphony Orchestra, and BBC Symphony Orchestra.
