#PickoftheWeek | Fashion show is trending
BY QEDC It's In Queens

Now this is a “fashion do.”
The Jamaica Center Business Improvement District presents trendsetting designs, fine threads, and adorable accessories – all by local businesses – at the Jamaica Just My Style showcase on Friday, June 15, at 6 pm.
Michi Knitwear is set to unveil a wide array of merchandise during this seventh annual rollout at the Jamaica Performing Arts Center. Formed by Michele M. Walden Mcphee, this company designs and creates knitted products, mostly for women, that complement everything from the full figure to the slight frame.
Local vendors – including Paparazzi Jazzy Jewels by Jean, Zaraz Handbags & Accessories, Indulge Bath in Body, Zeine Blue Apparel Accessories, and CGM Enterprises – will be on hand with products and promotions.
Plus, Roxanne Shanté, the borough’s first big female rap star, is the special guest host. The Queensbridge native had a hit with “Roxanne Revenge” in 1984, when she was 14 years old, before going on to a long career in music and commercials. The 2018 biopic film “Roxanne Roxanne” is a dramatization of her life.
The event is free, but RSVP is strongly recommended. JPAC is located at 153-10 Jamaica Ave.
