It’s in Queens
#NewsFlash | Something for every pallet — and entertainment taste — at World’s Fare this weekend
Here’s a shining example of the borough’s wonderful food scene.
The World’s Fare is at Citi Field on Saturday and Sunday, May 18-19.
An homage to the World’s Fair that took place in Flushing Meadows Corona Park in 1963-64, this second annual event will feature tremendous edibles and beverages along with activities and live entertainment.
With more than 100 vendors, here are some food options: Arepa Lady (Colombian); Balkan Bites (Kosovar); Chef Troy’s Table (Jamaican/Rastafarian); Kurry Qulture (Indian); and Moon Man (Indonesian). Let’s add Sam’s Fried Ice Cream to the group.
Then there’s the International Beer Garden, where patrons can try unlimited samples of more than 40 craft beers, including Asahi (Japanese), Cusqueña (Peruvian), and Tyskie (Polish).
Work up an appetite – or work out a full stomach – with belly-dancing, body-painting, calligraphy, LEGO kits, shopping, Sumo wrestlers, and various bands playing everything from Jazz to Mariachi to Afrobeat.
