#Newsflash | Register Now for the East River International Food Festival
BY QEDC It's In Queens

The food is great. The portions are huge. The cause is noble.
Queens Together, a nonprofit network that aids restaurants and fights hunger, presents the East River International Food Festival in Long Island City on Sunday, May 22, from noon to 3 pm.
To take place at Sound River Studios at Anable Basin, this first-ever smorgasbord is a walk-around sampling of such dishes as Afghan sabzi, Bangladeshi goat biryani, Guyanese potato curry and roti, Mexican mole poblano, Sri Lankan vegetable kottu, Thai papaya salad, Tuscan pasta al forno, and West African egusi.
“It’s a celebration of the multicultural Queens restaurant scene that’s coming back strong from the pandemic,” stated Queens Together Executive Director Jonathan Forgash. “We’re excited to host our first public event where NYC food lovers can eat well and have a fun day together.”
Tickets cost $50 per person with a cash bar, and proceeds will support Zone126.org, an educational and nutritional nonprofit that serves children in public housing in Western Queens. (Those under age 13 can attend for free if accompanied by a parent.)
The current participation list includes Dough Doughnuts, Il Bambino, King Of Falafel, La Adelita, M. Wells, Nneji, Ornella Trattoria, Queens Custom BBQ, Queens Lanka, Real Veggie Cafe, Rincon Criollo, Sami’s Kabab, Sultan’s Dine, The Nest, The Nourish Spot, and Tito Rad’s Grill. Attendees have a chance to chat with notable chefs, such as Hugue Dufour of M. Wells and Matt Fisher of Queens Custom BBQ. More purveyors are expected.
Located on the piers with an entrance at 4-40 44th Dr., Sound River Studios boasts direct views of the East River and the Midtown Manhattan skyline.
