#Newsflash | New Child-Friendly Yoga Studio Opens In Queens
BY QEDC It's In Queens

You’re never too young for Reverse Warrior, Cat-Cow Stretch, and Downward Facing Dog.
Very Good Gym LIC, which opened recently in Long Island City, will start offering weekly children’s yoga classes on Thursday, Aug. 11.
Elizabeth Stewart, who has more than 20 years of experience, will lead the classes. She studied Kashmir Shaivism with Swami Shambavananda and Buddhism in Tibet and Nepal. (She’s also a founding member of the Rachel Klein Theater Ensemble and an actress who has performed in dozens of NYC productions.)
Stewart’s classes blend yoga with creative expression and connection to Mother Nature. Of course, she likes to explore animal yoga poses, earth elements, and breathing, but she also stresses that the young mind’s natural creativity is sparked through play with theater games, music, drawing, poetry, and storytelling.
The 45-minute classes cost $25 per child (caretakers are requested for youngsters under age five.) The drop-in groups are limited to 12 children.
Steward also teaches private yoga to adults at Very Good Gym LIC, which is located at 10-14 47th Rd., just off Vernon Boulevard.
The venue also offers personal training sessions with trainers specializing in gymnastics, martial arts, dance, and strength training. There are no contract or monthly dues.
