#InTheLoop | Yoga, Crystals. Massage. Wellness Party In Rockaway on Aug. 28!
BY QEDC It's In Queens
Everybody deserves to be spoiled rotten for at least a day.
The second annual Eat. Play. Love. will take place at the Rockaway Retreat House (164 Beach 91st St.) on Saturday, Aug. 28, from 2 pm to 6 pm.
The general goal is to unite the wellness community, but the details include massage, mediation, breathing, body-painting, art, dance, workshops, drag performances, and even what organizers are calling “interactive experiences.” There will also be some raffles to raise funds for local nonprofits such as the Rockaway Mutual Aid Society.
It’s free, and all are invited. The organizers, led by the Ladies of Business Rockaway Beach group, are requesting that participants wear pink or animal prints to get in a festive mood.
Here’s part of the schedule.
Vegan lunch by Jaime Schultz;
Thai massage, hand reflexology, and cupping by Samantha Cintron of Nurture U Wellness;
Crystals and yoga wear from Anna Lesniak of Daya Yoga Studio;
Truth Booth experience by Enchantress Shane;
Body-painting by Dana Humphrey;
Breath work with Christine Walker;
Sound bath with Jennifer Kelleher.
Not for nothing, but during last year’s inaugural event, yoga instructor Kiki Flynn set a Guinness World Record for the longest held downward dog position at 60 minutes, 18 seconds.
Editor’s note: This event was originally planned for Aug. 22, but it was postponed due to the weather.
