#InTheLoop | The World’s Best DJs Take MoMA PS1 for a Spin on Fridays
BY QEDC It's In Queens
On Summer Saturdays over the past quarter century, MoMA PS1 has presented Warm Up to introduce audiences to the best in live and electronic music.
The internationally acclaimed program branches out this summer, as the Long Island City museum launches Summer Fridays on Aug. 12, Aug. 19, and Aug. 26.
The new series presents DJ sets by new artists and Warm Up alumni alongside bites by Mina’s and access to exhibitions and outdoor installations. (Like this one and this one.)
It’s free with admission, and as always, admission is free for New Yorkers.
Here’s the schedule. The shows are from 5 pm to 9 pm.
Aug. 12: Venus X; Akua; and DJ Undocubougie
Aug. 19: Jenifa Mayanja; Chino Amobi; and CZ Wang
Aug. 26: Miho Hatori; Slauson Malone; and Zariiina
Located in a converted public school at 22-25 Jackson Ave., MoMA PS1 presents emerging artists and genres via an outdoor gallery, a two-story display room with high ceilings, and many creatively utilized nooks and crannies. (Yes, it’s affiliated with Manhattan’s Museum of Modern Art.)
