#InTheLoop | Poetry Slams Every Third Thursday of the Month in Woodside
BY QEDC It's In Queens

There’s a place in Queens where alliteration, enjambment, hyperbole, metaphor, simile, and volta happily bounce around once a month.
The Risk of Discovery Reading Series unfolds every third Tuesday of the month at Fabula Café in Woodside, starting at 6:30 pm.
All are invited.
The events are centered on three-minute, Open Mic slots during which spoken wordsmiths present their verses to those present. Workshops, special presentations, and chats are frequent.
Risk of Discovery is the brainchild of Micah Zevin, a librarian who lives in Jackson Heights. The New School graduate published Metal, Heavy with Olena Jennings and Poets of Queens Press in 2020. He has also contributed works to such periodicals as The Otter, the Newtown Literary Journal and Blog, and the American Journal of Poetry.
Fabula Café is located in the shadows of the elevated 7 train at 39-67 61st St. It’s about half a block from Roosevelt Avenue.
