#InTheLoop | Pickleball Anyone? Indoor Courts Flourish In Queens
BY QEDC It's In Queens

Queens already has the only outdoor squash court in New York City and the biggest annual tennis tournament in the world. Now, the borough proudly boasts indoor, glass-floor, LED-illuminated pickleball courts.
Head over to Court 16 at 13-06 Queens Plaza South in Long Island City to play this red hot racquet sport. The facilities include three 30-foot courts, four 36-foot courts, and two 60-foot courts. (Editor’s note: Sixty feet is the USTA-sanctioned court size for advanced players of all ages.)
Those looking for partners and opponents can surf to the Court 16 Pickleball Facebook Group.
There are open play options starting as low as $38 per session. A private, 60-minute lesson with a professional can cost $122. A semi-private one goes for $105. Prices vary and members get better deals.
Pickleball is a fast-growing sport and a way to introduce athletes to tennis, which is played on a larger court. It’s also a fun way to get exercise.
