A major musician and an impressive impersonator are coming to Queens.
Suzanne Vega, who is known for such hits as “Tom’s Diner” and “Luka,” offers Old Songs, New Songs, And Other Songs, at Queens College’s LeFrak Concert Hall on Friday, Sept. 27, at 8 pm.
A leading figure of the Folk Revival during the early 1980s, Vega mixes acoustic guitar with her clear voice and poignant lyrics. On Sept. 27, the Upper West Side product will share the stage with her longtime guitarist, Gerry Leonard, to present a career-spanning show.
Ticket prices run from $65 to $95.40. Located at 53-49 Reeves Ave. in Flushing, LeFrak has seating for about 500 guests. A large parking lot is nearby.
Then on Wednesday, Oct. 2, Tom’s Elton Tribute comes to Queens Theatre at 7 pm.
Tom Cridland will pay tribute to Elton John by performing such hits as “Bennie and the Jets,” “Rocket Man,” “Don’t Let the Sun Go Down on Me,” and “Crocodile Rock.”
The Englishman, who is close friends with Elton John’s drummer, Nigel Olsson, is famous for his attention to details in recreating his idol’s music and outfits.
Ticket prices run from $32 to $42. The show will take place at The Claire Shulman Theater on the Queens Theatre campus, which is located at 14 United Nations Ave. S. inside Flushing Meadows Corona Park. A large parking lot is nearby.
