InTheLoop | Thalia Spanish Theatre Offers Free Shows on Sundays in June

Sunnyside Sundays are fun days in June.

Thalia Spanish Theatre presents the Free Community Festival once a week for the entire month.

Now in its 30th year, the program runs inside the Sunnyside performance center with roughly one-hour shows starting at 1 pm.. (They used to take place in a local park.)

Here’s the schedule.

June 1: Flamenco dance and music with Yloy Ybarra’s Danza España.
June 8: Music and dance with Yloy Ybarra’s Ballet Fiesta Mexicana.
June 15: Music and dance with Danza Guacamayas.
June 22: Zarzuelas (Spanish operettas) and Latin American romantic songs with singers Ilya Martinez, Carla Lopez-Speziale, Rafael Lebrón, Evelio Mendez, and John Root.
June 29: Castañuelas and voice with Compañía Española de Canto y Palillos.

Thalia’s address is 41-17 Greenpoint Ave. It’s near the 7 train’s 40 St-Lowery stop and the 41st Street bus station for the Q32 and Q60 lines.
