#InTheLoop | Spin a Yarn. Spill the Beans. Share the Good Word. The Moth Comes to Queens on Nov. 15

Got some hot gossip? Wanna hear about some crazy adventures? Ready to leave it all on the stage?

The Moth is dedicated to the craft of storytelling. Founded by poet/novelist George Dawes Green in 1997, the NYC-based nonprofit has just about done it all in the yarn-spinning world: mainstage shows, slams, workshops, radio shows, books, podcasts, blogs, coaching.

Now it hits the big, big time when The Moth Education Program’s Annual Showcase comes to Queens on Wednesday, Nov. 15, at 7 pm. (Doors open at 6 pm.)

To unfold at Culture Lab LIC, the evening will feature stories about forming bonds, exploring new territory, breaking the mold, rolling with the punches, setting the tempo, and forging ahead.

Expect to laugh, cry, and get inspired.

General admission is $17.50.

As to be expected, The Moth Education Program focuses on storytelling. Activities include workshops for educators, coordination with after-school teaching artists, and residencies at schools and community-based organizations.

Culture Lab LIC is famous for hosting events in its vast outdoor space during the warm weather months, but the campus also has an indoor facility with three art galleries and a 90-seat theater. Everything is based in The Plaxall Gallery at 5-25 46th Ave., not far from the East River.
