It’s time to sign up – and train – for the Queens Marathon.
That’s right, on Sunday, Nov. 17, hundreds of intrepid sorts will run 26.2 miles in Flushing Meadows Corona Park.
Organized by Queens Distance Runners in collaboration with the NYC Parks Department, the race is scheduled to kick off in the vicinity of the Unisphere at 8 am. Rain or shine.
The route is four times around a 6.56-mile loop.
Registration is $120, and the event is a qualifier for the Boston Marathon as certified by USA Track & Field, the governing body for track, field, cross country running, road running, and racewalking.
Now, it’s no secret that running 26.2 miles isn’t for everybody. Thus, QDR will organize a Half Marathon (12.1 miles, $80) and a 10K (6.2 miles, $40) on the same date — and loop. (The 10K‘s starting line is about 500 meters from the one for the other two races.)
More details upon registration, and volunteers are welcome!
