#InTheLoop | Experience the Creative Process behind Circus Acts in Long Island City

Do tightrope walkers have balanced diets? Do acrobats flip over great news? Do jugglers prefer tossed salads?

3AM Theatre launches First Light in Long Island City on Friday, March 14, and Saturday, March 15.

World-class circus artists will present fresh material to audiences, giving them authentic peeks into their creative processes. They will also seek constructive criticism as this new series aims to foster experimentation and build bridges between performers and fans. It’s time to get to know each other.

General admission is $32.56, and both sessions start at 7:30 pm.

The lineup features Kyle Driggs, a writer, performer, and Ecole Nationale de Cirque de Montréal graduate who can juggle just about anything while walking or acting; Logan Kerr, a tightwire walker and Bindlestiff Family Cirkus alum who can balance on just about anything; Book Kennison, who dances and does acrobatics while juggling; Madi Ward, another Ecole Nationale de Cirque de Montréal graduate who can swing around on a rope better than most people walk; and Matthew Morgan, an Ecole De Cirque de Quebec aerial strap master who rocks ballet while swinging on long ropes.

3AM Theatre’s multidisciplinary performance space is in Unit 3N at 9-20 35th Ave. The studio is dedicated to incubating and presenting circus, physical theater, modern dance, experimental music, and a cross-pollination of these art forms.
