#InTheLoop | Enjoy Great Irish Music during Tradweek in Astoria

You’ll be so happy you’ll dance a jig!

Tradweek, which has already started, runs at The Wolfhouse until Sunday, Feb. 16.

Now in its ninth year, this Irish folk-palooza attracts world-class musicians from all over the pipe-and-fife world. Two-time All-Ireland fiddle champ Pat Mangan is ready to rock. So is Uilleann pipe master Cillian Vallely. Tin whistle virtuoso Jane Keogh, banjo whisperer Donie Ryan, and lively party band Peadar Hickey are also in the mix.

Sessions start at 8 pm each night with a Saturday jam at 1 pm and a Sunday brunch on Feb. 16 at noon. Admission is free on weeknights, but there’s an entry fee on the weekend, which includes Friday night.

Tradweek dates to 2016, the same year that The Wolfhound opened, and it’s been growing every year.

The Wolfhound is located at 38-14 30th Ave. in Astoria, about half a block west of Steinway Street. It’s about four blocks from the Steinway Street station on the M and R lines. (The E and F stop there late at night.)
