Broadway has a good reason to be jealous of the southernmost point of Queens.
Rockaway Theatre Company will present God of Carnage from Friday, Sept. 8, to Sunday, Sept. 24.
Written by Yasmina Reza, this comedy begins with a playground altercation between 11-year-old boys. Two very different sets of Brooklyn parents meet to resolve the matter. As the conversation progresses and the rum flows, the diplomatic niceties of “civilized society” begin to fray.
General admission is $20, but seniors and children can attend for $15 each. Click here for tickets.
Here’s the schedule: Sept. 8 at 8 pm; Sept. 9 at 8 pm; Sept. 10 at 2 pm; Sept. 15 at 8 pm; Sept. 16 at 8 pm; Sept. 17 at 2 pm; Sept. 22 at 8 pm; Sept. 23 at 8 pm; and Sept. 24 at 2 pm.
Founded in 1997, Rockaway Theatre Company produces plays intermittently throughout the year, usually musicals, comedies, and dramas. The shows go on in a renovated theater that was once a cinema for United States Army personnel at Fort Tilden. The address is Fort Tilden’s Post Theatre (Building T4) in Breezy Point.
God of Carnage is directed by Frank Caiati, produced by Susan Jasper, and stage-managed by Adele Wendt. The cast includes Patricia Damon, Thom Harmon, Jim Katen, and Cassaundra Reed.
