Celebrate Mother’s Day with live music, art workshops, film, comedy, and even mushrooms in the World’s Most Delicious Borough next week.

Friday, May 9

Serial Mom at 7 pm
In this 1994 John Waters comedy, Kathleen Turner plays a suburban matriarch who maintains a seemingly happy home while committing countless crimes. General admission is $17.50, but seniors and students can attend for $12 and youngsters (3 to 17) pay $10.

I’ll Always Love My Mama at 8 pm
A Mother’s Day Weekend Soul celebration with Peaches & Herb, Keith Beaton’s Blue Magic, Lady Supreme: A Diana Ross Experience, Forever Donna: The Ultimate Donna Summer Tribute, and American Soul: Classic Soul and Motown. Tickets: $71 to $91.

Saturday, May 10

Mommy and Me Floral Design Workshop at 10:30 am
Create a beautiful teacup flower arrangement during this workshop for mothers and their children. Tickets: $21.99 to $58.74.

Love Your Mother (Earth) Mushroom Party at noon
The New York Mycological Society and others celebrate Mother Earth with help from fungi. Activities include a walk to explore local flora, an artist-led mushroom drawing workshop, a presentation on fungal microscopy, and the NYC premiere of “Fungi: Web of Life,” featuring mycologist Merlin Sheldrake and narrated by Björk. No price listed.

Afternoon Tea Experience at 1 pm

Sunday, May 11

Mother’s Day Open House & Block Party at noon
Live music, dancing, bilingual Drag Story Hour, art stations, solar cooked hot dogs, mascara making, a Migratory River Puppet Parade, cookie decorating with Little Chef Little Cafe, performances, magic shows, face painting, bubbles, piñatas, and more. Free.

Mother’s Day: Creative Together at 1 pm Drop-in and create bouquets of colorful paper flowers. Draw inspiration from spring blooms. Enjoy a glass of Betty’s Zip punch, crafted with grapes from the museum’s vines. Tickets: $5 or $12 per family.

Not A Mother…’s Day Comedy Show at 7 pm
A night of stand-up from comics who said “no thanks” to motherhood, lost their moms, or survived ones who really shouldn’t have had kids. The host is Carmen Lagala (Colbert, Don’t Tell Comedy, special on YouTube). Tickets: $15.
