This tour has it all – Walk, Ride, Learn & Lunch. Explore Corona-East Elmhurst’s history of jazz artists and music. This walking tour will include transportation to various locations throughout Corona East Elmhurst.  Ticket also includes a lunch during the tour.

Presented by the Corona East Elmhurst Historic Preservation Society, Inc. Seats are limited, so make sure you book your tickets early.

Sasha Berliner is a musician, composer, producer, and band leader from San Francisco, CA. Sasha started playing drums at eight years old. She pursued a jazz emphasis at her high school, Oakland School for the Arts, where she picked up the vibraphone at age 13. At the age of 14, she was commissioned to lead a group performing an arrangement of one of the multi Grammy award winning indie artist Beck Hansen’s songs, alongside Beck himself. She was a two year member of director Paul Contos’ SFJAZZ High School All-Stars Orchestra, and in the spring of 2017, was selected to attend the Banff International Workshop for Jazz & Creative Music run by pianist Vijay Iyer on the program’s full scholarship. Sasha is currently attending The New School of Jazz and Contemporary Music in New York City.

Convergence Arts and Flushing Town Hall present Lioness: Women in Jazz Concert Series. This is a three-concert/Q&A series presented by Lioness, a collective of female jazz instrumentalists/composers/bandleaders and a program of Convergence Arts, a non-profit committed to sharing the art and fun of improvisation with the community at large. The first concert features guitarist/composer Amanda Monaco and her Glitter Quartet.
The second concert will take place on Thursday, November 19 at 7:30 PM EDT., and the third concert will take place on Sunday, December 13 at 2:30 PM EDT.
