Join the Black Spectrum Theatre Co. for The 16th Annual St. Albans Jazz and R&B Festival, which has delighted audiences in Southeast Queens and beyond with energetic music and entertainment performances in years past and will do so once again this year with performances by:

*Crown Heights Affair featuring the legendary William Anderson: nationally acclaimed R&B Dance music pioneers of the ’70s and ’80s known for hit songs “Dreaming A Dream”, “Dancin'” and “Say a Prayer for You” as well as for their action-packed live performances and infectious horn-driven R&B dance music with pop overtones.

*Leon and The Peoples: fronted by lead singer Leon’s smooth, sultry vocals and backed by The People’s top-notch music talent from across the globe, Leon and The Peoples has a signature sound combining Reggae and Soul. Their phenomenal single “Beautiful” has hit #12 on the Billboard Hot Singles Sales Chart.

*Mel Holder: nominated for Best Instrumental CD at the 2016 Stellar Awards for his album “Back 2 Basics Music Book Volume II”, Mel Holder’s signature sound spreads the gospel of hope and salvation.

*Onaje Allan Gumbs: a New York-based pianist, composer, and bandleader who grew up in St. Albans, Queens and began playing piano at the ripe age of 7, and was nominated for an NAACP Image Award in the Outstanding Jazz Artist category.

*Craig Crawford Players: with his velvet melodies, Brooklyn-born saxophonist Craig Crawford, a long-time resident of Queens, leads the Dove Award and Stellar Award nominated Craig Crawford Players as they weave together a blend of inspired and moving arrangements transcending jazz, gospel, and funk that are sure to connect the heart and soul.

New 2018 Artist Co-Op exhibition at Jamaica Center for Arts and Learning opens next Thursday. JCAL’s Artist Co-Op is an annual exhibition featuring emerging and mid-career artists from around the borough of Queens and NYC. The goal of the exhibition seeks to reflect the diversity, talent, and quality of work in the Visual Arts of Queens.

The exhibition includes photography, painting, mixed media works and sculpture by 12 emerging and mid-career artists. Open to the public.

Opens October 10, 2018 7 pm and runs through January 10, 2019 at Miller Gallery.
