This virtual exhibit melds science and art to create extraordinary images of brains – from high-resolution images of real brains from different species to artistic portraits crafted out of brain cells. Viewers can look at high-resolution images of octopi, zebra finches, mice, turtle, and human brains, as well as original artwork inspired by brains.

Long Island City Partnership’s Annual Real Estate Breakfast is the leading real estate event in Western Queens. For 14 years, we have brought together sold out crowds of leaders in real estate, finance, and the LIC community to discover current projects underway in LIC. For photos of last year’s event, please visit licqns.com/REB2019ALBUM.
After much thought and to ensure the safety of our community during the COVID-19 pandemic, we have made the decision to host this year’s event virtually rather than in-person. The event will be free to attend, with the opportunity to support LIC Partnership through an optional donation during registration. Our panel will highlight a mix of residential, commercial, retail and industrial projects, reflecting LIC’s unique blend of uses.

Van Gogh’s Sunflowers is “on exhibit” in Queens as the Amazing Maize Maze on weekends through October 30. The maze experience begins with a Stalk Talk and a Sunflowers themed gameboard. It culminates with bragging rights as mazers find their way to Victory Bridge. New York City’s only corn maze is open Friday, Saturday and Sunday beginning September 18 through October 30 and Monday, October 12, 2020. It’s open Saturdays, Sundays* and Columbus Day 11:00 am – 4:30 pm; and 12:00 pm – 4:30 pm on Fridays. Maze tickets are $12/$8 (ages 12 & under) at queensfarm.org. (*note: On 9/20 & 9/27 maze is open as part of September Sundays; tickets at queensfarm.org.)
We’ve invited some of our favorite storytellers from our Queens Storytellers Online series to share some of their longer format storytelling solo shows: their words, their ideas, their stories, in their voice.
These performances will be LIVE – and will NOT be saved for the replay! Don’t miss it!
NAZIS AND ME
Written and Performed by David Lawson
Hate groups have always been a part of David Lawson’s life, from being a child fearful of a Nazi march, witnessing vandalism and bomb threats at the Jewish Community Center. Nazis and Me is David Lawson’s one-man show about confronting hate set in a time where hateful Americans feel a strong sense of comfort: Right now.
